Types of GPA

 

 

Grade Point Average (GPA) are tabulated based on grades a student receives in a class where:
    A = 4
    B = 3
    C = 2
    D = 1
    F = 0
 
Honors and  Advanced Placement (AP) courses are weighted with an extra point so that:
    A = 5
    B = 4
    C = 3
    D = 2
    F = 0
 
Logan transcripts list 4 different types of GPA used for different purposes:
 
Overall GPA - grades in all classes from 9-12th grade, used for Logan’s 2.0 graduation requirement
 
Weighted GPA - grades in all classes from 9-12 with extra point for Honors/AP
 
UC/CSU A-G Weighted - grades in all A-G courses in grades 10-12 with extra point for Honors/AP (also called Four-year College GPA)
 
State GPA - all courses in grades 10-12 except PE (used exclusively for Cal Grant eligibility)
